Destination Huntsville is now Touronimo!
After a year of explosive growth and expansion, Destination Huntsville has rebranded as Touronimo.
In fall 2019, Jenny Askins, a Huntsville local passionate about the arts, entertainment, and experiences in the Rocket City, created the online platform, Touronimo. This platform allowed local experts to share and sell tours and activities to locals and visitors. Soon, Touronimo’s events featured unique activities like Downtown History Walks with John Kvach, Wine Tasting with Stephanie Mell, Cookie Decorating with Melea Horton, Bourbon Tasting with Jeff Irons, and David Nutall’s Artimaps experience.
As Jenny shared Touronimo with local hoteliers, they encouraged her to form the first-ever local destination management company (DMC). After researching DMCs, Jenny launched Destination Huntsville in 2021.
Destination Huntsville secured the trust and partnership of multiple clients from around the area in 2021 and 2022. Then, this led to the expansion of our team in 2023 to include Leslie Walker, a Huntsville native and former City of Huntsville convention salesperson.
Not only has the demand for services in Huntsville grown but also for outside of the immediate area, leading to the need for the absorption of Destination Huntsville into the Touronimo brand. This strategic rebrand allows for our team to broaden our service offerings across the region.
Touronimo will now create unforgettable experiences for across Alabama, including Huntsville, Birmingham, Mobile, and everywhere in between. Building of new partnerships across the state will strengthen Touronimo’s local expertise, community connections, and unique offerings.
“We are thrilled to incorporate Destination Huntsville under the Touronimo umbrella!” said Jenny Askins, Founder and CEO of Touronimo. “This name change allows us to reach further across our communities. Creating one-of-a-kind experiences in Alabama for conferences, board retreats, trade shows, and more is what we’re all about. We are excited to use our local expertise to create authentic, personalized events showcasing all our state has to offer.”
Clients of both Touronimo and Destination Huntsville can expect a seamless transition. We will integrate the best practices and insights from both companies into our overall business plan. Furthermore, those planning events with us, will benefit from an even more comprehensive range of services, deeper local connections, and enhanced event-planning capabilities.
